About The May Fair Hotel, London

The May Fair Hotel, London was opened, with a suitably royal fanfare, by King George V and Queen Mary in 1927. It quickly established itself as one of the most elegant and stylish hotels in Europe, hosting decadent parties and extravagant displays of wealth in the years between the wars.

In the 1950s, Hollywood glamour moved in: film impresarios the Danziger brothers bought the hotel and turned it into a magnet for the rich, the famous (and, sometimes, the infamous).

By the 1960s, it had become the London home for show business royalty: Muhammad Ali, Bob Dylan and Marianne Faithfull all graced its elegant suites. More recently, Clint Eastwood filmed here with Matt Damon, and rock star Pink used it as a location for two videos in 2006.

In 2004, a new era for The May Fair Hotel began. Every single room in the hotel was transformed. New wings and floors were added. And in came a stylish, modern effusion of glass and leather, marble and gold leaf. Just 30 months and £75 million later, The May Fair could once again announce itself to the world as A Hotel Like No Other.

More than a hotel, The May Fair is a collection of experiences. Among them, May Fair Kitchen, evoking an ambience to recreate the culinary delights of the Mediterranean, showcasing an exquisite selection of Spanish and Italian small plates complemented with the finest wines; and May Fair Bar, offering an exclusive collection of signature drinks passionately crafted by expert mixologists.
